The Weekend

Precious Little Girl

On Mother's Day
Singing on American Idol

Yesterday we had a couple (Misty & Jeff) and their new baby over. I will be watching their little girl during the school year. Misty will be going back to work at the Elementary School here in Vidor where she is teacher. It went really well I thought. I'm excited about it. I have "baby fever" so bad. Claire will be 2 next month, we have insurance. I don't see why we can't have another baby except that Kev is not ready. I keep telling him. "I have lost 61 lbs! I deserve to have another baby!" LOL! Maybe this will subside my the "fever" though.

The remodeling is going good. We just bought the paint for our bedroom and bathroom. After we get that painted we will redo the bathroom floor. Why people put carpet in bathrooms I don't know... Then all we will have left is the living room, kitchen/dining, and hall. I think we have decided to put new vinyl tile in the hall, kitchen, and living room and leave the carpet that we have now in the bedrooms because we need new furniture. My dresser is falling apart and we have mismatched furniture in our living room. I want to get a sectional and a recliner. I can't wait until it's all done. It will look nice.

Here are some random pictures I just felt like posting.

Glenn Beck Comedy Tour

This weekend Kev and I went on our first big date since we have been married. By big I mean extravagant or expensive. :) So, Kev and I bought really good seats to Glenn Beck's show. We love Glenn. We try to watch him every night. For those of you that don't know who he is, he has a TV (channel 202 on Dish Network at 6pm, 8pm, and 11pm) and a radio show. He talks about current events and politics. He's super funny!

Anyway, so before we went to the show, which started at 7:30pm at the Wortham Center in downtown Houston, we went to a Brasilian Steakhouse called Foco de Chao. It's a really neat place that has a huge salad bar and guys come around with scourers of different cuts of meat. Awesome food!!

Then we went to the show and had a great time. Glenn was amazing like we knew he would be. Before the show started a guy that worked for Glenn walked by and I asked him if I could take pictures. He said that was okay because people had in shows before. Then Kevin said, "Hey your the blog guy, right?" I said, "Yeah, Joe." Joe then said we could take pictures of whatever we want. :) So we took a picture with him. Joe does a blog on Glenn's website about the tour. He gave us his card and told us to wait until Monday then send him an email and he would get us an autographed picture of Glenn.

It was great. A well deserved date I think. We have been so busy and stressed all of our marriage. He was in school full time and working part time. He left at 7am and came home at like 9pm. Then we got pregnant with Claire which is so NOT a burden. She is great. She just can stress a person out. You guys with kids know what I'm talking about. ;) It's always a good idea to take a weekend during a marriage to just be with your spouse and rekindle your love. I highly recommend it.

Fun Little Game

I got this from Brianne's blog. I thought I would give it a try.

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one (or 2 or 3...) memories that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Fun In The Pool

Today Claire and I went to my friend Mandy's house to swim. We had a blast. At first I was really protective and uptight. Mandy suggested we should put some arm floaties on her. After that I think I relaxed a little bit more. After about 30 minutes she really loosened up and would jump in the pool and swim around. I'm so pround of her. She had a really good time and did NOT want to leave. I told Kevin that we really need to get a pool when we buy a house because she loves it so much.

New to This Type of Blogging

I have had a website for Claire since before she was born, but it is getting expensive. I thought since this was free it would be a good switch. I love all my friends' blogs anyway. I have no idea what I'm doing though. I hope to figure this out quickly. I might have to talk to some friends about it.

Things are going great. Claire is a beautiful, sweet, and loving little girl now. I can't believe she will be 2 in only one month. It seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital. It is so hard to be a Mom. No one tells you the hard part before. It is so rewarding though when she randomly comes up to me and gives me a huge hug and says, "I love you Mommy!" Aw, I love that. I thank Heavenly Father every day for my beautiful family.

We have started to sort of remodel our house. We have decided to stay in this trailer for 5-10 years to really save for the house we really want instead of going ahead and getting a mediocre house now and get what we really want 20 years from now. So, we have decided to make the house how we want it since we will be here for awhile. We have painted the guest room, guest bathroom, and Claire's room so far. Next we plan on painting our room and bathroom, and then paint the living room, dining room, kitchen, and hall. It's A LOT of work but worth it!

I am excited to start blogging. If anybody has advice on how to work this thing let me know. :)
